Later on during my sisters visit, they came over with my brother and his family for a birthday dinner for me. We had an excellent chicken parmasean prepared by yours truly and the NELSON family traditional birthday cake provided by my brother in law. Then we had 'see how cute my kids are' time; which was by far the highlight of my day. (I don't have my own kids, so I have to live off my nieces and nephews for now)  Randal and Marian have now moved to New York and oh, how I will cherish those final days with them.

So if you didn't just see enough of my cute nephews from my Feb trip, here they are in full bloom again. They came to UT from DC for a couple weeks in may and we had a blast going to museums, dressing up, driving helicopters (can you say 'driving helicopters??) and learning how to fight off mean children on school trips. They stayed with Rich's family and visited our house a couple times. Here are a few pics of their visit.

New Years 2007

This year Peter and I were both wanting to get out of town for some holiday in 2007. It seemed that every time we tried to plan a trip, something came up. So were were determined when it came down to Dec 1st and we STILL had not gone anywhere!! We were lucky enough to get a condo in St. George from Peters brothers inlaws...I know, say that 10 times fast, I got tripped up just typing it! We headed down and spent about a week there just being lazy, shopping in Las Vegas, and doing some site seeing. Despite the fact that it wasn't as WARM as I had expected, I think that we both had a great time and realized how nice it was to get away from ringing phones, busy lives and just STUFF! We rung in the new year with the Classic 'Martinelli's' drink, (where peter learned that drink gives him heartburn), a vow to never eat at low class buffets again, and a realization that away from the office, we are both pretty cool.... enjoy!

continuation.....

When I arrived in Virginia, it was 'jacket only' weather which was a big plus for me. Utah was about 10 degrees at that time and if you know me, you know I HATE cold weather, and I hate being cold. My sister Amy and little nephew Cyrus picked me up from the airport and we headed to the best grocery store on earth: TRADER JOE'S. While there, Amy insisted on purchasing Oreo cookies with peppermint filling. Being the great sister I am, I encouraged her to "put the cookies down, step away from the cookies"....I think I just received an eye roll and hearty HA! Next stop was to pick up the other two hooligans...uh, I mean nephews.... at a neighbors home, where we found Henry in a world of hurt due his excessive dragging of the feet and outward screams. I think Amy even put MY trip on the line by saying to the young child, ' stop screaming now or I will take aunt nissy right back to the airport'. Shortly after the comment, I began screaming and dragging my feet saying, 'I will be good, don't send me back to Utah!!!' Christian was there as well, but fully clothed as BATMAN and insisted Christian wasn't there, that he was batman and Christian was busy. Good thing I didn't ask for "Bruise" Wayne....The rest of the weekend was filled with laugher, crying, mostly on the part of Henry who found himself in his room most of my trip, watching batman, meeting "bruise wayne", putting puzzles together and seeing a couple really cool museums. I am so glad I was welcomed with open arms in Virginia and hope to visit again soon.

I want my aunt Nissy!!

In February, Annisa had the opportunity to visit her sister and three cute nephews in Virginia. She went from spending her days processing and underwriting loans, to processing what "wawa" and "henny time out" meant. I am so glad I had the opportunity to visit, please read on for more "Virginia Experiences"
Tonight peter and I are driving to get a roof rack for the 4runner. Now if you know us, you may think 4runner? The Boogaards aren't truck people! In most senses you would be correct, but since I was called to the Young Woman presidency and Peter to the Young Mens presidency in our ward, we needed a car that could carry more than one person and a smile. So Peter made the brave decision to sell his Acura TL he loved so much and buy a Toyota 4runner, even though he only sold the TL to his dad, it was brave none the less. We are on our way back home the happy couple of a new Yakima roof rack. I am so proud of the person Peter is and even prouder of who he is becoming, roof rack and all! We are happy in our jobs, and happy with our lives. I think we make a great team and after a year together I think I can say that together we are invincible.
